I had to purchase Tiger because this had no OS when I got it. After installing Tiger and researching upgrade possibilities, I came across a firmware upgrade that is for my system. Now I’m not sure if the previous owner did this firmware upgrade, so my question is, how do I check if I’m up to date??
Just in case, I thought I’d put this here too. If I need to update my system, this update is for Mac OS only, not OS X. I have the old 20GB HD that came with my system and I thought about loading Mac OS on it and doing the upgrade that way, then taking it out and putting the 120GB back in so I’m not having to start all over again. I attempted to load my Mac OS 9.2.2 cd on it (20 GB HD), but it tells me that I need a volume destination to copy the OS to and the HD is empty. My guess is this 9.2.2 is an upgrade CD and can’t install a full install. Any suggestions on what to do from here? I searched this forum and I didn’t see anything matching my issue, so I hope I didn’t repeat a thread.
Hopefully if the firmware update is already done on this system, I wont need to worry about the second paragraph.
